From Michigan’s desolate northern reaches, two decades apart,Shroud of Despondency and LanzerRath unite in an unholy union of cosmic black metal over a year in the making. Unlocking another musical plane for each band, it offers two magnum opus level performances on one release! This 40 minute split album releases May 10th, but is available for preorder now. Metal Fest & release party…
Our friends over at Kognisjon Bryggeri in Marquette are pitching a metal festival! In revelry of releasing their new brew, and our new album, Woodcult will be playing live at the brewery on April 20th.
Joining them on stage will be one of the best metal lineups the Upper Peninsula has ever seen; The Glorious Dead, Horrid Mass of Milwaukee, and local act The Hard. The show will be hosted by Bear, of WUPX’s Thrash N’ Trash. Count on the Northern Spire making an appearance too. Cheers!

Debut ritual is released…
Here on the 30th anniversary of Darkthrone’s Transylvanian Hunger, Northern Spire Productions is proud to present Woodcult’s debut album, Dendric Incantations.
Like supreme black metallers before them, the master was recorded entirely live, in pure analog. The Quadraphonic Akai 1730-SS tracked to 1800' of Ampex 541 tape a primal ritual that was previously only available to a stage audience.
This ritual is now available to you on Bandcamp, Spotify, and (most properly) on physical media through our webshop. Follow us to keep posted on Woodcult’s upcoming shows and some other news currently brewing in the workshop.

New act signed, studio debut soon…
Germinated in Michigan soil, Northern Spire Productions is proud to premiere another northern black metal act from our backyard. Woodcult is a ritual live band, with a strong emphasis on the vintage roots of the genre. Previously only available to a stage audience, Northern Spire has teamed up with Lark Song Studios to record the anticipated debut.
Why the conjoined studio effort? The band insists on recording every track live to analog tape for the most authentic black metal experience. We are privileged to have another band that is so dedicated to the craft.

Orelisk prepares new scripture…
Following down dark pathways from his debut demo Mold, Orelisk returns to the light to invite us into The Underworld Obscura. The first full-length from the cult artist features nostalgically dark production, a blizzard of tremolos, and is narrated by piercing screams. The digital will be available though Bandcamp on June 30th. You can also preorder the new scripture on tape and CD at the NSP webshop.

Today premieres the new LanzerRath lyric video, Galactic Will of Oppression, crafted exclusively by band member “ I ”. LanzerRath
Raw is an understatement for LanzerRath. The black metal duo has gained an international following for their chaotically shifting style created with the intention of “forgoing stale musical theory.” Perpetually drunk, irrevocably irreverent. Their unique third wave sound is regularly characterized as “cosmic black metal” by fans and critics.
Orelisk
Remote, desolate, and frozen; A eulogy to the remnants of humanity that scar the natural landscape. Solo act Orelisk draws inspiration from the frigid winters of the Upper Peninsula, culminating in his signature “true northern black metal” style.
Draudr
Draudr pays heed to the frailty of humanity in a blackened death metal characterized by the plight it was spawned during. The remote duo has created drums you could drown in, and contagiously foul guitar riffs.
